Weedsport

Kate came up from NY yesterday- she went to Geneva to visit Grandmary today. I drove her to Weedsport, the midpoint between Geneva and Oswego where she and Sarah have had the Brennan/Culkin family exchange since they were tiny.

Boiler Duty

I am in Oswego with Flo, who has been doing big-time-replace-the-boiler-in-Dad's-house duty. We have had fun, we stayed at a room over the Brew Pub last night after dinner at Patz and watched 10 minutes of the Dark Knight before we fell asleep in our respective recliners. Today we shared a pizza from Pizza Villa with the plumbers. Flo goes back to Denver tomorrow. Here is a scan of the plate off the old (dead) boiler that once heated the house with coal.

Oswego in the Fall

Bill and I spent some time in Oswego; Bill is still there. Kate joined us, and we had dinner with Trish and Mary Brennan at Canale's. Bill and I went to hot yoga, had Thai food with Sandy, Mary Alice, Kathy, Tracey and Burt, and also had dinner at the house with Dan and Joan, Carol, and Terrie.

It is quite beautiful there right now. I forgot to take pictures until my last day, so I took many from-the-car shots. Many more on flickr.

Oswego in July

We are back in New York after our upstate tour. Unfortunately we missed hot yoga- Sandy has different hours in the summer and I foolishly didn't call her to check. I got up at seven and started drinking water for nothing- we got there fifteen minutes late rather than fifteen minutes early.

Other than that, Oswego was great. We visited the bookstore several times, bought vegetables at the farmer's market, I took pictures of items in the house, and we had a little dinner party. (Wii Fit is perfect for the tv room, in case anyone else wants to travel with their console and balance board.)

Tasty ginger and lime cocktail at Sunita's bar. We stopped by after arriving back in NY. Sunita lives upstairs with her daughters over this tiny bar on Norfolk Street close to our house. She is lovely and makes very delicious cocktails

Still in Oswego, back at Patz this time with Trish, Mary and John Brennan. We also visited with Carol Delaney and her daughter Susan, Tony Lawrence and Terrie Woodward. It is very nice to be here.

Oswego in June

Kate and I took the train up yesterday from New York. It is beautiful here in Oswego right now. We have visited the regular spots- the stands, Greene's and Patz, where we received a particularly warm welcome from Emil, the chef, and many of the staff who wanted to talk about Hosmer. We visited cousin Mary McSweeney yesterday and played with her adorable dogs. Kate is archiving, I am taking pictures of stuff, we are having fun. Tomorrow Trish and Mary Brennan are planning to come for dinner.
