Goodbye 2006. I can't say I'm going to miss you. I was sick when you came in, I'm sick as you go out, and you took some unpleasant turns as you unfolded. But you did have your good points, including putting the Harriet Jacobs manuscript in the mail, travelling to Argentina, and the Ultimate Family Death March (a.k.a. the Marine Corps Marathon). And of course the election. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the past year--as always, I would love to see the rest of the Red Peonies crew's best images of the year.
This holiday season--with no snow and Christmas on a Monday--didn't motivate me to write much about New York in what is usually one of its best few weeks. But here are a few pictures.
