Project Runway commentary on Slate
As everyone knows, I love Project Runway and I also like reading endless post-mortems of the show on various blogs. I'm also a fan of some of the Slate podcasts, like Project Runway filled with characters you love to hate. Thrilling discovery- one of Slate's blogs has a post-show chat after Project Runway featuring many of my most loved and hated Slate journalists. Read the analysis of last night's episode here.

Project Runway on the front page of the NY Times?
Much as I like this show, I think it is a little weird that there is a picture of the contestants in the new season of Project Runway on the front page of the Times- well at least online.

The Fashion Show
Did anyone else watch the first episode of The Fashion Show- Bravo's knock-off of Project Runway with Isaac Mizrahi?
I love Isaac Mizrahi, but wow, almost all of those clothes were really bad, at least I thought so.

Was Kenley treated unfairly?
I love the Slate Political Gabfest (as does Molly), and this week one of the guests, Hanna Rosin, talked about toggling between the last debate and the Project Runway Finale, as I did. Her main point was that bratty Kenley got treated differently than the equally obnoxious men in previous seasons.
I don't think she should have won, but I do think there is no doubt that she was treated differently than the guys. Read Rosin's post on Slate's XX Factor.

Yet Another Project Runway Post
Alex Cox, who runs a really great comics shop in Brooklyn, Rocketship, draws comics about Project Runway on favorite blog Project Rungay. Here is a link to his latest- it does seem to sum up what I love about this show.
Interesting how after a while all obsessions seem to overlap.

Project Runway Update
Art, politics and... Project Runway!!!
I am embarrassed by how much I enjoy watching this show. Even this season when the designers are not that good and complain constantly.
What does everyone think about the exit of Terri and Blayne? Suede (yes, his name is Suede and he talks about himself in the third person) is still there designing boring and poorly constructed clothing. And he is not the only one!
Why did they pick this group? Were the last two groups too talented and professional? Maybe that makes for bad reality tv.

Finally Keith is off Project Runway
That guy really drove me crazy. I couldn't stand how he kept talking about his "art" and his "conceptual" and "progressive" fashion and how hard it is to be "progressive" in Salt Lake City. If its so hard, move.
Here is an interview with the aufed designer- he seems even more irritating than he did on the show. Though yelling at his model for sitting down was pretty bad.
Am I overreacting?

Project Runway
I didn't see the second show of the season for the new crowd of designers on Project Runway until last night due to crappy cable in hotel (why is it always so bad- oh, I guess pay-per-view). I was sadly disappointed to see that the bad clothes on the first show were not a fluke- this group does not seem to be that talented.
I guess there is still time for things to pick up, but I noticed Tim Gunn is not saying his usual "You are the most talented group of designers yet." In fact, he looks pretty frustrated with this group- they are slackers as well as not-that-talented.

Project Runway
I have been so consumed with studying that I totally forgot that Project Runway Season 5 started last night. I didn't realize until I looked at the DVR and saw the little red light showing it was recording. I asked Jerry what it was recording and he casually said, "OH Project Runway started tonight." Thank goodness for DVRs.
I must say that I was not impressed with the designers. How could they all be so dumb and use a tablecloth. Some of them genuinely seemed surprised that other designers had picked a table cloth. Also had Stella never purchased a trash bag, why didn't she know that cheap trash bags wouldn't work.
I must admit that I was most excited about the return of the great commentary of the boys at Project Rungay. As always they didn't disappoint. At least I have a few things to look forward to in the next week and a half besides studying.

Even more on Project Runway
Laura Bennett, from season three of Project Runway, is writing a comic- Case Clothed.
If you have some time to waste, you might enjoy Project Rungay, a very amusing blog about one of my favorite shows.

Project Runway (again)
Ricky almost lost again! That guy is way too whiny. And his outfit was not good.
What is going on with the revival of unfortunate 80's looks? Chris got bumped for his, I wish they would get rid of Christian and his horrible 80's asymmetrical haircut for ever.

Project Runway 2
What's with all the crying on Project Runway?
I am already totally sucked in to the new season.
