Hosmer Adventures

Hosmer and Frank Summer 2004

We found two memory cards with about 300 pictures on it from 2004-2005 in an old camera case, so I've uploaded these to Shutterfly. They are mostly Hosmer family adventures adventures, but with some other family occasions -- Yankees game, birthday parties, etc.

My new friends

Kate sent me these awesome flat dolls. They have great outfits and a dog with his own clothes. Currently they are living on my fridge but I can tell they have big travel plans. Hopefully they will have adventures like Flat Stanley. More pictures soon, stay tuned.

Happy Birthday Again Kym

Yes, you are never too old for Santa--or for running marathons. Good luck with cake.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYM

Today is Kym's Birthday! Hopefully she will have better luck finding birthday cake in Spokane this year. We love you Kym. No one is ever too old for Santa.

First day of school

I remember when the first day of school was really exciting. I could barely sleep I was so excited, I debated what I would wear for at least a week and anxiously awaited the day. I start my last year of law school today and I can barely manage to work up even a little excitement about it. There are two things that make my return to school exciting if not a little awesome.

I found this sequined gold pencil case last year and it makes taking notes that much more sparkly.

Kym sent me this totally rad gift as a Happy Back to School surprise. I am so excited even though several friends have threatened to no longer speak to me if I actually bring it to school. I guess I will have to eat along. At least I will have Zac.

Ions for your hair?

I rarely blow dry my hair. For one reason I am really inept at it and I don't enjoy doing things that I am not good at. It is also extremely hot and South Texas is already hot enough without purposefully blowing hot air on you.

As a result I have had the same tiny hairdryer since I was in Jr. High. It actually was given to me by a friend after she got a better one. I loved it since it was a travel hair dryer so it folded. Well several years later the hair dryer is still working but it doesn't fold anymore and I swear the air is getting hotter and hotter.

Kym embarrassed me into buying a new hair dryer recently. It has 15 speeds and it shoots ions at your hair which apparently makes your hair shiny. I am not sure I know how to use it yet but I have high hopes. I don't think I will get rid of my cute little hair dryer just yet, you never know when you may need a travel hair dryer that no longer folds.

John Neck the Agitator

I am so proud of my father. Whenever he complains that Kym and I are agitators I always remind him that it is his and my Mom's fault. The NY Times article is great.

Happy (belated) Birthday, Red Peonies

August 22 was Red Peonies 2nd birthday. It was another year of accomplishments for the RC crew, including new jobs, promotions, marathons, engagments, and big tests successfully passed. And of course there was much food eaten and television watched. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the past year--I would love to see other people's selections.

John is once again protesting the building of the wall between Texas and Mexico. The protest is called Hands Across el Rio. He and Jay are traveling to several cities on the border and people from both sides will meet together on the bridges connecting the border cities. They are also some people putting boats and kyacks in the river. John is quoted in the times today but I can't find the article now. As soon as he sends me some pictures I will post them.

Catskills Roadtrip

Calvin and I went on a brief road trip to the Catskills to visit some of our friends in their great Catskill homes.

Yes, it rained a lot, particularly on the drive up.

First stop was to see Jim and Tiffany and their daughter Marlo in Stamford. Jim used to live in Calvin's building, they did a little sports bonding playing catch.

Jim is a sculptor and furniture designer.

Next we went to Bovina where we visited artists (and Momenta directors) Laura and Eric and son Leon.

Christy came by for dinner at Laura and Eric's, she also lives in Bovina.

Her pond is really beautiful.

As is her work.

Anders, Dak and Squirt Bottle

Dak and Anders hanging out before the birthday dinner!

Anders and his new easel

Anders likes erasing best, as you'll see. And these are Neilson's Electric Company songs are playing in the background -- a great backdrop to a wonderful evening. And I'm not really this bad a videographer -- this was taken with the cell phone!

Birthday Season

Sarah and Anders and Andy - August 19, 2007

Anders was 2 on August 19th. We had a small party at the Mengshol's on Sunday, and a wonderful time was had by all -- playing in the back yard, great sausage and peppers for dinner, and time for presents and cake. We also had presents from Kate from her trip to Austria and Denmark, and a great CD from Neilson with songs from the Electric Cpmpany. Note also Ander's Gandhi T-short from Kate. Very, Very nice!. Ander's kids' party is next Saturday. See below for few pictures and You Tube moments and there will be more on Shutterfly soon.

Happy Birthday Crunch!

Yesterday was Crunch's 50th birthday. In celebration, Grandmary and Johnny made the famous Slosson Lane fried chicken and local corn. There was also birthday cake, a wiffleball game, pin the tale on the Janey, and a slideshow. Of course, today is another important birthday--Anders! I'm sure there will be many pictures taken.
