Michelle Obama dances on Ellen

I still feel bad Michelle Obama doesn't get to talk about her many accomplishments, but I think she, for the most part, keeps her self-respect and dignity on the campaign trail and she even looks cool while dancing.

I saw this too, and she does look cool. It is sad that most of her message centers on homey anecdotes, and that she is talking in sort of a forced folksy way.

Did you hear Ellen did get in one dig, after Michelle repeated the mantra that Palin's family should be off limits, by saying, sotto voice "Now let's talk about her".

Yes, I did notice that! Right now Whoopi, Barbara and Joy are complaining about Palin blurring line between church and state and why it scares them. I'm hoping the talk show vote holds a lot of sway.

On another note, it is kind of amazing that the woman who is potentially the next first lady is dancing with a gay woman who just got married on a show being beamed to middle America. And that is seen as a way to get votes. So despite Palin, there has been progress.

That's a good point about how mainstream being gay has become since Ellen's last show, which basically got canceled because of it. Not only is the gay community a strong voting bloc in itself, the fact that it is now accepted by the likes of those who watch Ellen says a lot. You'd think between Ellen and Oprah, they could swing this the right way. Or rather, the left way. I think there's enough time for the pendulum to swing back where it belongs.

On another note, can you imagine McCain or Palin dancing with Ellen? HA! (this would make a great animated video).
