Botanical Garden

To celebrate spring, Neilson and I recently went to the New York Botanical Garden, which is as beautiful and peaceful as I had heard. Sadly we were a week or so late for the famed daffodil Hill, which is supposed to be magnificent in full bloom but was a rather depressing sight of dying and dead flowers by the time we got there. But the tulips, cherry and apple trees, and the lilacs--my favorite--were in full bloom.

The tulips are beautiful. I am happy you didn't miss the lilacs. Mom was so happy last week when she came home after 3 weeks on the road and found the lilac tree in bloom. I guess we all love them.
